large coastal low continues to move slowly northward well offshore of the Carolinas. High level clouds are just starting to reach our area, but models and observed 00Z soundings along the eastern seaboard indicate plentiful dry air at midlevels. As such, there is not likely to be much if any ice in the clouds, so precip in the form of drizzle or freezing drizzle is more likely. We are already likely seeing some as a few sites in the eastern Catskills and Mid Hudson Valley are reporting precipitation reaching the ground. Earlier, we saw some flurries over parts of the Capital District.
