Thanks to a very large and slow-moving storm system, northern New York and New England have been experiencing a prolonged snowfall event over the past several days. Some places have recorded nearly three feet of snow and even some of the local higher terrain of the Catskills picked up some light snow. This storm system has been gradually departing, but the overcast conditions that we have been experiencing this week will continue into the weekend.

Tomorrow looks to be overcast as a very weak weather disturbance passes through the region. Can't rule out some flurries Friday afternoon, but there is very little moisture or organization associated with this passing system, so snow accumulations are not anticipated. Clouds linger into Saturday as the next storm system approaches. The building-blocks of Saturday's storm are just beginning to appear as moisture along the West Coast and near the Gulf of Mexico. The storm will affect our region as rain Saturday night through Sunday morning. There is the potential for an inch of rain. Currently, not anticipating any notable frozen precipitation from this storm, but with the precipitation looking to begin after sunset on Saturday, will keep an eye on the temperatures as some sleet could briefly mix in if temperatures are low enough.

Unless an update is needed Saturday night, the next post will be Sunday with a full Outlook for the week ahead and a November Weather Recap.
