*A snap shot at why it'll be raining tomorrow*
A couple weeks ago I made a post [>>LINK<<] about how it would only take two well aimed coastal storms to bring the Hudson Valley back up to normal snow amounts… well what we have right now is an example of a storm track that is NOT conducive for such normalizing.
To sum up the slide below, the storm will be trekking right over NYS. The circulation around the right side of the storm will draw in warm air from the south which will push out the current colder air. The result will be snow transitioning to rain for much of the northeast on tomorrow. A track further out to sea (to the right) would have also shifted the remaining colder air to the right as well. This all being said, all areas will see at least some snow overnight - before the rain - so, the morning commute could be slick.

The National Weather Service has issued the following Winter Weather Advisory which is in affect until 10AM Tuesday
HAZARD TYPES…FREEZING RAIN…SLEET AND SNOW.
- ACCUMULATIONS…SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 2 TO 4 INCHES…ALONG WITH
UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE.
- TIMING…SNOW WILL DEVELOP FROM SOUTH TO NORTH THIS AFTERNOON
AND TRANSITION TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN LATE THIS EVENING
BEFORE CHANGING TO RAIN TUESDAY MORNING.
- IMPACTS…HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ESPECIALLY MONDAY NIGHT
INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES WHERE THERE
IS A COMBINATION OF ICE ACCRETION AND GUSTY WINDS.
- WINDS…SOUTHEAST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
- TEMPERATURES…RISING FROM THE TEENS AND 20S TODAY INTO THE 30S
AND 40S TO PERHAPS LOWER 50S ON TUESDAY.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW…SLEET…OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE
