10:00PM Update

Snow and sleet has tapered off across the area. There could be some additional snow/sleet showers at times over the next few hours, but not really expecting additional accumulations. Latest storm reports from the National Weather Service indicate that about an inch of snow and sleet fell this evening. Temperatures should rise around freezing by 5AM. For this update… decreased all the probabilities slightly to account for the lower totals and earlier end time. For comparison, yesterday's delay was due to 2 to 3 inches of snow ending between 12AM and 1AM with temperatures rising above freezing after 9AM. In short, a delay is possible tomorrow, but less than likely.

4:30PM Tuesday

Snow should over spread the area shortly. Expecting snow to continue this evening, possibly mixing with sleet or freezing rain late tonight. Based on the latest radar trends, precipitation should begin to taper off around midnight. We could see 1 to 3 inches of accumulation before then. At the moment, the current thinking is that the morning affects of this system will be similar to Monday's delay. The one thing that currently needs to be monitored is the threat for icing due to freezing rain. However, at the moment this does not look to be a significant factor if precipitation tapers off around midnight. Will have a final update at 10PM.
