9:30PM Sunday

There is a lot that can be said about the upcoming snowstorm, so I'll keep it simple; here's the latest storm timeline:

Light snow develops after 12PM Monday.
An inch or two possible by evening.
Steadier snow moves in after 7PM.
There could be 4 to 8 inches on the ground by 8AM Tuesday.
Steadiest snow continues through Tuesday morning.
Snow begins to taper off early Tuesday afternoon.
Residual snow may linger into Tuesday evening.
Expecting total snowfall to be in the 8 to 16 inch range.

Regarding the totals…
The reason for the rather wide 8 to 16 inch total range is due to uncertainty in how long the heaviest snow lasts. The heaviest snow should fall early Tuesday morning. However, some forecast guidance continues the heavy snow through late Tuesday morning, while others do not. In either case… looking at a significant snowfall across the region.

Regarding the school impacts…
Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 1PM Monday.
Temperatures will be well below freezing, so once snow does begin to fall, it shouldn't have trouble sticking. Between this and necessary city preparations for the storm it is likely, but not guaranteed that there will be an early dismissal tomorrow.
