6:00PM Monday

Poughkeepsie got up to a high of 70 degees this afternoon, this breaks the previous record high temperature of 68 for today's date.

The warm surge will be short-lived as a coastal storm forms in the wake of this morning's rain storm. Looking for calm conditions tomorrow, before precipitation moves back into the region Wednesday. Snow should develop Wednesday around noon, and taper off around midnight.

Right now, expecting total snowfall across the area to generally be in the 3 to 6 inch range, some of the hills outside around New Paltz and the southern part of Ulster County could see up to 8 inches. There is still 36 hours until the storm arrives, so projected totals can still shift. Also, for now the assumption is mainly snow through Wednesday afternoon, but we could see a mix for a while, which could cut down totals.
