Brief Overview

Regarding today's storm. . .

The trend over the last 18 hours has been for stronger impacts across the northeast. Across Ulster and Dutchess Counties, now expecting a general 2 to 8 inches…

less than 4 inches north and west of Kingston,
4 to 6 inches from Kingston to Poughkeepsie
— including Ellenville and New Paltz—,
and 6+ inches across southeastern Dutchess County.

Timing looks to remain about the same.
Light snow should overspread the mid-Hudson Valley by about 2PM, and taper off around midnight. Could see light snow linger into early Sunday morning.

As far as impacts…

Temperatures will run in the lower teens, so expecting a fluffy snow. Snow will likely stick to all surfaces fairly quickly and will be the kind that cakes on roadways. There are some early dismissals already in affect across southern Dutchess County, and it is possible that some Ulster County schools may dismiss early as
well… primarily across southern portions of the county. After school and evening events will very likely be cancelled.

Additional updates this evening.
