5:30AM Friday

As of 5:30AM, about half an inch of snow on the ground. Expect light, but steady snow to continue through around 7AM, followed by either a lull or intermittent snow showers through mid morning. With light snow continuing we may not see much improvement in the roads. An upgrade to a cancellation is possible.

10:00PM Thursday

As of 10PM, radar shows an initial band of snow showers that looks to trek across the area between midnight and 2AM… however, it is unclear how much of this is reaching the ground. A second batch looks to cross the area between 3AM and 7AM. Could see a coating or so with the first batch, and around half an inch with the second. Latest trends suggest that any snow should taper off around 9AM with only a slight chance of snow showers through the rest of the morning.

Note… the National Weather Service continues to go with snow arrival times between 4AM and daybreak. The probabilities reflect the earlier time frames. Later time frames would… have slightly lower probabilities… on the order of… 30%… 20%… 0%

5:00PM Thursday

At 5:00PM, radar trends suggest light snow may develop shortly after midnight, and taper off as early as 8AM. The National Weather Service holds any snow off until after 3AM, and ends it around 1PM.

Exact timing looks to be the biggest headache with this one.

Temperatures will be well below freezing …16 to 21 degrees… through daybreak, so any snow that does fall will stick around. Temperatures should remain below freezing though 2PM or 3PM. Will continue to monitor radar trends this evening, and have a final update by 10PM.

Regarding the weekend storm:

Now looking for light precipitation to begin before daybreak Saturday. This may result in a brief window of freezing rain, as temperatures will be right around the freezing mark to start the day.

Rain will intensify throughout the day as temperatures again make a run at 50. Looking for up to an inch of rain with this storm.

Another system may produce additional light snow toward the middle of next week. I'll have updates to the long range forecast tomorrow afternoon.

(The sight is acting slow this afternoon. If ever this site is down,
updates will be posted through the "Kingstonsnows Extension" site.)
