Just did a drive around town to check out the roads.
Most of them are clear, but there are a number of side streets that still have a coating of snow or black ice.

Black ice and slick conditions will be of some concern tonight into early tomorrow morning as temperatures fall into the teens. Watch out, especially if you're walking.

Tuesday Morning's Update

There will be three main points for this week's weather:

1) A storm system will trek offshore the Mid-Atlantic states Tuesday, bringing the threat of some light snow throughout the day. Notable accumulations look
to stay to our south and east, but we could still see
up to an inch of accumulation throughout the day.

2) Very cold Arctic air will filter in for Thursday.
For historical reference: the National Weather Service forecast low temperature of 7 degrees for Poughkeepsie on Thursday night would be the coldest December temperature recording since December 30, 2010. The last time we had a comparable temperature within the first
two weeks of the month was back in 2005.

3) A storm system may affect us with accumulating snow this weekend. Too early for specific details, but just something to keep in mind as we go through the week.

Tuesday

Mostly cloudy.
Light snow possible between 8AM and 5PM.
Up to an inch of accumulation, mainly through 2PM.
Additional light accumulations possible during the evening.
Morning lows in the mid 20s.
Afternoon highs around 30.
Calm winds.

Wednesday

Mostly cloudy, especially during the afternoon.
A slight chance of light evening snow showers.
Less than half an inch of snow possible before midnight.
Morning low in the upper teens.
Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.
Light winds.

Thursday

Some clouds throughout the day.
Cold! Highs in the upper teens,
Lows in the single digits.
Some of the surrounding hills could
flirt with the zero degree mark.

Friday

Clear skies initially.
Increasing clouds during the day.
Cold! Morning wind chills below zero.
Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.
Light winds.

Saturday

Increasing clouds.
A chance of light snow during the afternoon and evening.
Morning lows in the upper 20s.
Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
Some form of snow likely through Saturday night.

Next Update:
Friday Afternoon.
Unless there are significant developments to the potential weekend storm before then, or if it looks like Wednesday evening's snowfall may have an impact Thursday morning. Neither scenarios are currently expected.
