9:20PM Update:

Final word: Around 4 inches of snow by 3AM, then a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain through 8AM. Up to an additional half inch through 8AM.

Regarding the probabilities, I am still not comfortable with the main accumulations subsiding by 3AM. But, considering the similarities between this storm and the previous cancellation, regarding the potential for light accumulations continuing through the morning, I will continue to favor a cancellation.

Please note that this is not the storm to pull an all-nighter during, with the anticipation of school being closed in the morning. It wouldn't take too much for this to end up as a delay if precipitation rates drop off quicker than anticipated in the early morning hours, which I believe the latest radar may be suggesting.

I apologize for being so late with this post.

5:00PM Update:

No real changes to the forecast at this time.
Current thinking remains the same as this morning.

Main bullets:
Snow developing by 8PM

Around 5 inches of snow through 3AM

A mix of freezing rain and sleet after 3AM

Up to an additional inch of accumulation through 9AM
(More ice = less accumulation)

Rain showers through the early afternoon.

Only concern at this time is that the reliable accumulations will be ending around 3AM. The mix of sleet and freezing rain will fall at a lighter rate than the snow, but should be enough to keep roads slick through 9AM with additional accumulations under an inch.

I'll have a final update by 9:15PM.

9:15AM Update:

Significant late season storm to impact us tonight.

Looking for snow to develop between 5PM and 8PM.
Heavy snow possible between 8PM and 3AM.
Likely looking at 4 or 5 inches during this time frame.

After 3AM, precipitation will lighten up a bit, and change over to a mix of sleet and freezing rain.

This will limit the accumulations after 3AM,
but should still manage to coat roads even after they are plowed.
Expect the mix to continue through 10AM, before changing over to rain showers.

I'll have an update by 5PM.
