Still a bit of a toss up as far as the probabilities go…
but based on the forecast, slightly favoring a cancellation.

As of 8PM, temperatures still actually a degree or two above freezing. This is cold enough for snow to fall, but has been limiting accumulations to grass and trees.

Temperatures should fall a couple more degrees as the night progresses, allowing for road accumulations after midnight.
This should allow for about an inch of slush by 7AM… snow and additional accumulations may continue through 10AM.

Total non-road accumulations will be 2 to 4 inches.

This will be my final update for the night.

4:30PM Update

The "no-show snow-low" that passed to our south last night is currently throwing precipitation back across the region. This will be enhanced by a system over the Great Lakes.

For tonight,
Look for snow to continue through 6AM, with snow possible through 9AM. Accumulations are likely to be in the 2 to 4 inch range.

Regarding probabilities, my main concern at the moment is how much accumulation will actually stick to the roadways…

Melting snowfall this afternoon has lead to wet roadways, which may make it more difficult for additional accumulations later on. Also, additional snowfall tonight should be of the wet-sticky variety, opposed to dry and powdery.

Temperatures are currently forecast to bottom out at 30 degrees, though temperatures have been running lower than forecast this afternoon, and I suspect we'll dip slightly lower.

In either case, at least some road accumulations are likely by daybreak. I'll have an update at 8PM tonight.
