8:00PM Update

The opportunity for snowfall has been decreasing over the past few hours. Any snow tonight will be in the form of flurries. A coating of snow is possible, but at this time, greater accumulations do not seem likely.

6:00PM Update

A developing offshore low will bring a heavy snow event to eastern New England. Here in the Mid Hudson Valley, the system will spread flurries and light snow overnight.

As of 6 PM, light snow was just beginning to fall in the Kingston area. Expect this trend to continue through around midnight, with a chance of some snow showers after midnight. As far as accumulations… not really looking for anything major. There is the possibility for a coating to one half inch overnight. I will say that radar returns do not look encouraging for accumulating snow after about 9PM.

For now, will leave the probabilities at 20%, and will have a final update at 9PM.

For tomorrow, the biggest issue will be the temperatures.
Looking for highs around 20, but with the windchill, it may not feel warmer than 10.
