Morning Rain on Friday

4:00 P.M. Wednesday January 11, 2012

Welcome to Kingston Snows!!

School Forecast For:
Friday January 12, 2012
Two-Hour Delay Cancellation Early Dismissal

A second low pressure system will move into the region from the Great lakes. This low will bring us a second round of rain Friday morning. Temperatures Friday morning will make it down to 34 degrees, so while not explicitly stated in any forecasts, it is possible that we could see a snowflake mixed in here an there. Temperatures will remain fairly steady Friday, only warming to 37 degrees.

A dip in the jet stream will bring cooler and drier weather back into the picture for the holiday weekend. Saturday, temperatures will make it up to around 30 degrees with a chance of flurries in the morning. Lows Saturday night will fall to around 11 degrees.

Sunday, we'll be looking at a high of only 22 degrees or so with an overnight low of around 6 degrees. Martin Luther King Jr. Day we'll make it up to 28 degrees with a low around 16. Both Sunday and Monday will both be mostly sunny.

This will give way to a chance of showers on Tuesday as the jet stream pulls back north. Highs Tuesday will approach 40 degrees.

A second dip will settle across the region next Wednesday and Thursday knocking high temperatures back into the 25- 30 degree range. Lows will be in the teens and lower 20's.

Although I do not anticipate the need, if any adjustments are needed for tomorrow morning's storm, I will have them posted by 9PM tonight.

Next Update:
Monday afternoon.
