Once over the waters of the gulf of mexico Tropical storm Dolly was able to restart strengthening and by 5pm on july 22 Dolly had become a hurricane- the second of the season. The storm continued to track to the northwest, a track that would bring her near the Texas/Mexico border, tropical storm and hurricane warnings had been up since the 21st.

Tropical storm Cristobal began to become extra tropical on the 22 as she excelerated even more to a foward speed of 35mph and her winds weakened.
