Winter Storm

The main feature for this week will be a storm system that is currently developing over the southwest. This system has winter storm watches and warnings up from Texas to Maine and looks to give us a bit. As of right now models are seem to be fairly confident in snow developing over our area around 3am Wednesday. We will likely see on the order of 4 to 8+ inches with some sleet or freezing rain mixing in for a period on Wednesday night.

As for the timing of all this, snow should start around 3am or so (as I have mentioned), we could see 2 inches on the ground by 7am…another 4 inches on top of that by 1pm…by 7pm we could have an additional 3 inches before mixing with sleet/freezing rain through midnight. Lingering snow showers could produce another 1-2 inches between 7pm wednesday and 6am Thursday.
